Or more valuable than that, more seductive, certainly more fragile is TIME. There is never enough of it, but we wish it away all the time. How many times a day do you say, "I can’t wait…" Silly are the things it seems we can’t wait for. School to start, summer vacation to start, Christmas, my birthday (although around 30 I believe most of us stop wishing for that one to get here faster), our first house, the baby to be born, walk, talk…, ar raise at work, the big promotion, the corner suite, my book to be finished, published. On and on goes the list, and when the actual even get here do we savour it and hold it close? Or are we busy looking forward to the next item on the list. Our individual "Bucket Lists".
It is said with age comes wisdome, but it seems to me the only wise thing I have learned is don’t waste time because it ain’t ever coming back. I can’t wait until they invent a time machine…blessed be my darlings.

Threw in a little joke in the last sentence there, didn\’t you? I suppose that to a very small extent the rich can "buy time," with better medical care, a life prolonging life style, and the like. In psychology there are said to be two kinds of pleasure; process pleasure which one gets from the work, activity, thought, effort itself, and goal pleasure which one gets when a goal is attained and a thing or task is finished. I think you just said this in a different way, but I agree that we are becoming less likely to enjoy either kind and should become more aware of it.Peace, Doc
Very true post !!! I sometimes need a nudge regarding time, jus letting it go by without realising how special every moment is – good or bad .. lessons, wisdom and blessings come in that many forms too many of us don\’t see this, let alone accept it and saviour it .. xx
Time machine? I still have problems with my VCR! be well,J.
Oh, how quickly the years pile up behind us! I try to live in the moment–to immerse myself in the now. That is a bit of wisdom I have picked up along the way. "Don\’t waste time…" Sage words
I just love those times of pure antisipation. It is a wonderful feeling and sometimes sweeter than what we are antisipating.
